Photography & video production
As an artist, I am always searching for new ways to visually explore the complex and often fraught relationship between humanity and the natural world. These photographs are a part of that ongoing exploration, focusing on the boundaries between the human and wild interfaces.
At first glance, these photographs might appear to be simply beautiful landscapes, but upon closer inspection, the viewer will notice the subtle yet undeniable presence of human development encroaching upon these wild places. This tension between the aesthetic beauty of the photographs and the difficult subject matter is a central theme of the work.
Through these photographs, I aim to draw attention to the delicate balance that exists between the natural and human-made worlds, and to encourage viewers to consider their own role in shaping that balance. The beauty of these landscapes serves as a reminder of what is at stake, and the encroaching development serves as a cautionary tale of what can happen when we fail to carefully consider the impacts of our actions on the natural world.
Ultimately, I hope that these photographs will inspire a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world, while also encouraging viewers to think critically about the ways in which we interact with and shape it.
